It will provide official assets for creators worldwide, allowing them, within the scope of authorization, to carry out cinematic derivative creations based on the Legend of Sword and Fairy universe, centered on characters, scenes and more.

The 2026 AI Section's annual outstanding works have been released, and the film-game crossover creation season has been launched in tandem. Leveraging the Professional Golden Rooster Platform to Explore the Creative Space of Game IP Imagery

The Golden Rooster Future Imaging AI Section is a brand-new platform that integrates the official Golden Rooster Awards platform with AI imagery innovation, aiming to build China's first authoritative professional screening platform for AI films. The 2026 AI Section's annual outstanding works have been officially released, covering seven honor categories including Annual Feature Film, Annual Short Film and Annual IP Adaptation.

Alongside the release of the annual outstanding works, the film-game crossover creation season has launched a year-round open call, continuously inviting AIGC creators worldwide to submit game IP adaptation works. By bringing game IPs into the official licensing library, the “Film-Game Co-Creation Program” provides creators with content resources for cinematic adaptation, encouraging them to combine cinematic storytelling, AIGC technology and positive value propositions in exploring forms of visual expression that are artistically compelling, technologically innovative and widely communicable.

This marks the first time that China's mainstream film festival system has included game IPs in an official “Future Imaging World Resource Library,” turning game worldviews, Chinese-style aesthetics and immersive storytelling into creative resources for future imagery, and extending film-game collaboration from a phased showcase of achievements to sustained content co-creation.

Opening Official Legend of Sword and Fairy Assets to Reinterpret Classic Stories with AI

As one of the first batch of officially licensed IPs under the “Film-Game Co-Creation Program,” The Legend of Sword and Fairy will subsequently open its worldview settings and related assets through designated channels. Within the scope of authorization, creators may reinterpret the Legend of Sword and Fairy stories in the language of cinema.

The opening of official assets provides a clear source of resources and a basis of authorization for adaptation. From the delicate portrayal of characters' destinies, to the visual presentation of the jianghu landscape, to the visual construction of the imaginary Six Realms, creators can explore different narrative perspectives and aesthetic styles on the basis of respecting the IP's settings and spiritual core.

In existing creative practice, the AI work The Legend of Sword and Fairy: General's Tomb by creator “Haisen Pai Hanbao” was shortlisted for the Film-Game Fusion TOP16. Using AI technology, the work presents a Legend of Sword and Fairy story in the style of retro Hong Kong–Taiwan wuxia films, demonstrating the creative potential of combining classic game content with diverse visual styles.

As official assets are gradually opened up and more creators take part, the Legend of Sword and Fairy stories are expected to find richer expression: they may re-enact classic plots, or, within the scope of authorization, explore character relationships and emotional details, bringing a fresh viewing experience to this beloved xianxia IP.

This selection for the “Film-Game Co-Creation Program” will further connect the franchise's content heritage, creators' imagination and AIGC technology, introducing broader co-creation momentum to the classic IP.
